Unit Summary

The third step in the innovation design thinking process is where you take the best idea, or group of ideas you came up with, and turn it into a sample product – called a prototype.
The prototype will help you explain and demonstrate your idea. It would also help you in determining what are the essential components you should have in the solution.

The third step in the innovation design thinking process is where you take the best idea, or group of ideas you came up with, and turn it into a sample product – called a prototype.
The prototype will help you explain and demonstrate your idea. It would also help you in determining what are the essential components you should have in the solution.
If you are building a software or an app, you can visualize it through few screens that will represent the most important features.
If you are building a physical product, you can make a model, using tools you have around you, to show how your solution will look and work in real-life.
The aim of the model is to get as close as possible to the real product or service you want to build, without having to spend huge amount of money or time doing it.
We call this first model the prototype.
